The Joint Initiative giving club

A group of older people laughing over coffeeTogether we can create a better future for people living with arthritis

The Joint Initiative is an exclusive fundraising community for supporters who give a special personal gift of between £1,000 and £5,000 a year.

Your gift will support the most promising research into ending pain and giving people with arthritis the hope of a pain-free future.

Contact Sophie Laitner on or 020 7307 2252 to join.

Why support research into pain?

We’re dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with arthritis so that they can say "I'm in control, independent and recognised".

People living with arthritis have told us that what affects their lives most is pain. Pain presents them with a daily challenge and they're living with it for decades.

To give people with arthritis a pain-free future, we urgently need to understand much more about how and why they feel pain. As part of The Joint Initiative, you can do this.

What do I get for my membership?

In appreciation of your generous support of between £1,000 and £5,000 a year you’ll receive:

  • regular updates on the work your support is making possible
  • invitations to private events, including an annual exclusive The Joint Initiative event
  • the opportunity to meet senior Arthritis Research UK staff and the researchers working to crack pain
  • the option to be publically thanked on our website and in our newsletters
  • a dedicated Arthritis Research UK contact.

How do I become a member?

To become a member of The Joint Initiative or to find out more, please contact Sophie Laitner on or 020 7307 2252.
