Musculoskeletal pain disorders CSG

The musculoskeletal pain disorders CSG is chaired by Professor Elaine Hay.

Our aim is to reduce pain and disability in people with musculoskeletal complaints and arthritis, in the community, primary and secondary care. We aim to develop and support trials and other well designed clinical studies across the whole range of musculoskeletal complaints including back pain, regional pain and widespread pain. Our main focus is on improving the non-pharmacological management of musculoskeletal pain, and our research is multidisciplinary. Our agenda covers both efficacy and effectiveness studies, as well as the “second translational gap” of getting evidence into practice.
