Focus on pain research study day

Published on 28 February 2018

For people with arthritis, pain has a substantial impact on all aspects of their life, causing significant disability, morbidity and contributing to an increased risk of mortality. Since 2015, we've been focusing on pain as one of our strategic priority areas. We’ve been catalysing new areas of activity in our research award and fellowship schemes to prioritise musculoskeletal pain research, and in spring 2018 we will be launching our Pain Roadmap, which identifies future priority areas for pain research.

We’re pleased to be sponsoring a ‘Focus on pain research study day’ being organised by the British Pain Society and British Society for Rheumatology on Wednesday 7 March at the Royal College of Anaesthetists at Lion Square in London. This day will bring together multidisciplinary pain and musculoskeletal researchers from all career levels to raise awareness, facilitate collaborations and help strengthen UK pain research.

Speaking at the meeting will be Dr Craig Bullock, one of our research programme managers, who will provide an update on our efforts to stimulate and fund pain research.

The event will be recorded and available to view after the meeting. A link to the video will be added here after the event.
