Laboratory insight day: research into bone and joint disease

York, 23 August 2018

Do you have experience with bone and joint disease that you can share with researchers? Can you spare half a day to talk about your experiences and the issues you face? Are you interested in learning more about osteoarthritis research going on in York? The Genever Laboratory is holding an insight day at the University of York to engage with people living with osteoarthritis and related diseases. If you would like to learn more about their research and help them understand more about your needs and concerns, please get in touch with the team.

When: Thursday 23 August 2018, 14.00 – 17.00
Where: Department of Biology, University of York

Their work focuses on developing new, stem cell based therapies for osteoarthritis. By talking to people with real experiences of bone and joint disease, they hope to gain a deeper insight into how research can addresses the needs of people living with these conditions.

The first insight day will encompass a tour of their facilities, short presentations about their research and an informal discussion with staff and students, where you can tell them about your experiences, ask questions about what they do and give them your views on future research priorities.

This event is aimed at people who have experience of living with osteoarthritis as a patient, family member or carer. Refreshments will be provided on the day, so please sign up and join the laboratory team at the university for tea, coffee and to talk about issues that matter to you!

Please register here, or telephone 01904 328744.
