Policy and public affairs
The Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team seeks to bring about change that enables people with musculoskeletal conditions to say “I am in control, independent and recognised”. We want to achieve a positive, tangible different to their lives and push back the limits of arthritis. We seek to do this by influencing Government and its associated bodies so that they can get the big decisions right.
- We seek to understand problems and identify solutions that are within the gift of Government to take action on
- We undertake activities to influence Government to take these actions
- We want to involve our supporters and people with arthritis in asking Government to take these actions.
We work across many areas of policy to help people with arthritis say “I am independent, recognised, and in control”
Our policy reports and spotlights aim to help policy makers to understand arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions and include data and analysis to influence policy development.
We work with parliamentarians and decision-makers to ensure arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions stay on the agenda.

We work in collaboration with a number of other organisations and coalitions to represent people with arthritis.
