Geneva to Nice

woman-cycling-mountain-and-lake-480x250This idyllic cycle begins via the picturesque towns of Annecy and Sisteron heading through beautiful scenery of towering mountain peaks, spectacular limestone cliffs and gorges, dense forests and lavender fields, ending with a fabulous descent from the hills through the Gorge du Loup. This is a challenging route; however, the magnificence of the landscapes will provide you with a truly unforgettable ride.

  • Day 1: Meet in Geneva
  • Days 2: Geneva to Allevard. Cycle Approx 132km (85 miles)
  • Day 3: Allevard to Corps. Cycle Approx 120km (75 miles)
  • Day 4: Corps to Digne-les-Bains. Cycle Approx 144km (90 miles)
  • Day 5: Dignes–Les–Bains to Nice. Cycle Approx 140km (88 miles)
  • Day 6: Nice to London

How do I join Team A?

You can join Arthritis Research UK’s very own Team A when you sign up to take on this incredible challenge. Click on the Join Team A button below and complete your registration form with Discover adventure, our tour provider.

What do I get?

All of our Team A cyclists receive:

  • an official welcome pack, including our Guide to Fundraising tips and advice to help raise vital funds for Arthritis Research UK, sponsorship forms and posters to help promote your fundraising
  • top training, nutritional and health advice to make sure you're ready for the big day
  • an official Arthritis Research uk orange cycling jersey to wear on the big day with letters to spell out your name
  • support from the Arthritis Research UK events team before, during and after your challenge

Whats included?

  • all acomodation
  • all meals except 3 as specified in the itinerary
  • fill trip support of expereinced Discover Adventure leaders, drivers and mechanics

What else do I need to know?

You must:

  • own your own mountain bike or road bike – Discover Adventure can provide hybrid or mountain bikes at extra cost if you wish but it’s really important that you ride the bike you've been training on so you’re used to it
  • have had a tetanus injection in the last 10 years
  • check your own bike is in good working order before departure
  • make sure you are fit enough to take on a challenge of nature
  • a valid 10-year passport is essential; it must be valid for at least 6 months after entry into France or Switzerland
  • supply your own helmet and wear it at all times while cycling
  • you should make sure you are fit enough to manage 136km per day

You can:

  • choose one of two payment options available; pay your registration fee of £149 then pay for your trip in full £975 to Discover Adventure and set your own fundraising target
  • or pay a registration fee of £149 and have a minimum sponsorship target of £1850

Whats excluded:

  • personal travel insurance
  • homebound flight
  • four meals as specified
  • extra food, personal items and entry to any optional tourist sites you may wish to visit
  • money for extra drinks, souveniers and other personal expenses
  • Discover Adventure strongly recommend you carry a credit card in case of personal emergency
