Versus Arthritis is looking for an experienced procurement officer to join our procurement team to help deliver cost effective, compliant, contract delivery and ensure fit for purpose, innovative sourcing solutions are achieved to support the delivery of the Charity’s vision and goals.
About the role
The charity has well-established procurement systems in place and this role has been created to support the implementation of the new corporate procurement strategy to drive transparency and business improvement.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the finance and procurement team, delivering professional procurement and contract management advice to stakeholders on a diverse range of procurement activity.
You should have experience of preparing tender documentation and using procurement portals and will be responsible for the development of effective analytical tools to track spend and supplier performance, feeding into commercial insight by identifying risk and areas for improvement.
In addition, you will support the wider finance and procurement team in the provision of appropriate procurement and contract management training, to include the use of all applicable e-procurement systems.
The successful candidate will be a procurement professional who is enjoys working as part of a team. You will have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of procurement principles, having gained experience working within a similar role in the private or public sector. Key areas of expertise should include:
- comprehensive knowledge of best practice procurement and contract management
- proven track record of providing end to end procurement advice and support to a comprehensive range of stakeholders
- experience monitoring key supplier relationships
- a good understanding of commercial environment including the identification of commercial risk
- high level expertise in the operation of e-procurement systems
- strong numeracy and data analytical skills
- well-developed writing and communication skills.
