We are looking for a dynamic and engaging head of department to lead our Research Liaison and Evaluation team. This is the team directly responsible for understanding, evaluating and communicating our diverse research activities.

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Head of Department to join our Research Directorate where you will be responsible for:

  • Effective management, oversight and delivery of research communications internally, externally and with our researchers.
  • Integrating the insight of people with arthritis into everything that the research team does.
  • Providing thought leadership on how we monitor, assess and evaluate our research.
  • Ensuring that your team is supported, managed, developed and enabled.
  • Working with the research management team to shape, plan and deliver strategic priorities.

Key requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience of leading a team and line management
  • Experience of the practical application of research involvement, evaluation and communication
  • Be highly interactive and able to operate across a wide range of teams and individuals at all levels within the charity
