No time to lose: what are we fighting for?

Campaigners with Arthritis Research UKOn 25 November the Government will set out how it'll spend money over the next five years.

From benefits, to healthcare, from support for research to the money it'll give to local councils to invest in local services, everything is up for grabs in this Spending Review.

Arthritis is the number one cause of pain and disability in the UK, with over 10 million people across the country living with the agonising daily pain of the condition.

We believe the Government must act now to deliver a fair deal for people with arthritis in this Spending Review. You can tell your MP there's no time to lose in the fight against arthritis.

Together we can end the pain of arthritis, but we can only do it with your help. From 12 September there are less than 75 days to make sure that the Spending Review delivers a fair deal for people with arthritis.

What are we asking the Government to do for people with arthritis?

Following the General Election 146 Arthritis Champion MPs entered Parliament, committed to work with us to prevent and cure arthritis, while transforming the services available to people living with the condition now.

In the spending review, we want to see the Government deliver real action on our Prevent, Transform, Cure agenda by:

  • protecting benefits for people with disabilities
  • committing to protect and increase investment in science so that research into developing better treatment, diagnostics and  cures for arthritis isn't undermined
  • addressing the growing arthritis epidemic in this country
  • maintaining the sustainability of our NHS by committing to protect and increase the amount of money councils receive to improve the health of local residents.

Act now: tell your MP there's no time to lose in the fight to beat the pain of arthritis.
