Our clinical study groups

We have a strategic commitment to support clinical research. Major investment is available to support the funding of clinical trials and related studies.

We support clinical study groups (CSGs) in seven areas of pathology, each has a group leader, who is responsible for the group activities and ensuring that all relevant interests are represented.

What do our CSG's do?

Our CSGs identify areas of strategic significance in the area of clinical research and the funding we provide is directed towards answering those priority questions. This means that investigator initiated applications may only be considered if they fit within the strategic priorities.

They also seek support for clinical trials and related studies by working with health care providers (e.g. NHS) and other bodies (e.g. pharmaceutical industry) and with or from other funders (e.g. National Institute for Health Research and devolved nation equivalent) as well as supporting applications for our funding.
