An opportunity to shape our research
More than 1 in 6 people in the UK live with the pain and disability of arthritis every day.
We are dedicated to stopping the impact that arthritis has on people’s lives. Our vision is to create a world free from the pain of arthritis. We’ll do this through prevention, developing a cure, and transforming the lives of those with arthritis.
Over the last 80 years, our work has changed the lives of the millions of people living with arthritis across the world. But more still needs to be done. We know that too many people are still living in pain, and that this pain has a profound impact on their quality of life. In 2015 we have set a new target, to make a positive and tangible change in the quality of life for people with arthritis, so that they can say: “I am in control, independent and recognised”.
Our new approach includes changes to the organisation, remit and membership of our committees, enabling exciting new opportunities to flourish. Research will be evaluated under three new strategic sub-committees and a newly established college of experts, and we will also be expanding the involvement of patients in our funding cycle.
Sub-committee members: what do we need?
We are seeking to recruit members to the three new strategic sub-committees across disease, treatment and health and our new college of experts.
These are strategic funding sub-committees and we are looking for individuals that can bring expertise, insight and talent to help us shape and develop transformative musculoskeletal research and our other growing impactful activities, as well as recommending new funding awards and overseeing the performance of the current research portfolio.
We are keen to include a breadth of representation on our committees, including international membership.
Applicants should have a distinguished track record in any area relevant to basic, translational, clinical or health research or be from a commercial, health and social care commissioning or service management background.
Details of how to apply, the role of the sub-committees and college along with membership activities are provided in our appointment brief (PDF 339.7KB).
Please contact us at email@example.com to submit your application, and with any enquiries.
Applications should be submitted by midnight Sunday 22nd May.
