Fundraising tips
You can organise or participate in an event which can be as
simple or as challenging as you like. Here are just a few
ideas.
- Dress in orange for a day - rummage your
wardrobe for anything orange and organise an orange themed event in
support of Arthritis Research UK.
- A yummy cake sale - get baking your favourite
sponge, chocolate or fruit cakes!
- Organise a walk/run - whether it's a mile,
five or even eight, every one counts and should get you lots of
sponsors.
- Give something up - a week without
chocolate or crisps...go on, you can do it!
- Bring a pound into work - get your colleagues
to each bring a pound into work in aid of the charity you are
raising money for.
- Lunch - ask your colleagues to bring in
sandwiches for their lunch and donate the money they saved to
charity.
- Match the pet to the owner - ask your
colleagues to bring in a photo of themselves and of their pet.
Charge £1 a time to match up all the photographs.
- Shocking sock/tie/outfit day - people taking
part are asked to donate £1 and those that don’t have to pay a
forfeit of £2!
- Charge for favours - every time someone asks
if you could do them a favour, charge them.
- Fancy dress car wash - ask everyone in your
street if you can wash their car – dressing up in a crazy outfit
makes it more fun!
- Ice skating - ask people to sponsor you for
how many times you can go around the rink without falling
over.
- Quiz night - ask your local pub if you can
hold a quiz night and charge £5 entry per team. Half the fee goes
towards the charity (unless you can find another winning
prize.)
- Dress down day - everyone pays £1 for the
privilege to wear what they want for the day.
- Shave your head - set yourself a donation
target and when you hit it, say you’ll shave your head/legs.
- Swear box - employees caught swearing must
make a donation to your charity.
- An auction - everyone’s good at something,
whether its’ painting nails, ironing or walking a dog. So why not
auction off your service?
