Great Scottish Swim

Swimmers in open waterNestled in the heart of The Trossachs National Park, Loch Lomond is Britain's largest inland stretch of water and one the UK's most iconic sites of natural beauty. The Great Scottish Swim is the perfect way to take in and experience its majestic surroundings in all their glory.

Surrounded by mountains, wildlife, forests and glens this open water swim is not to be missed for any swimming enthusiast.

With a range of distances from ½ mile, all the way to 10k there is a distance to suit everyone.

How do I join Team A?

You can join Arthritis Research UK's very own Team A by securing your own place through the Great Swim Series website, then completing our online registration form.

Simply click on the join Team A button below, complete our quick online registration form, and one of the events team will be in touch to officially welcome you to Team A.

Please note, you must secure your place with the event organisers to be able to take part in this challenge. You can do so by visiting www.greatrun.org/great-swim/great-scottish-swim.

What do I get?

All our Team A swimmers receive:

  • An official welcome pack, including our Guide to Fundraising with tips and advice to help raise vital funds for Arthritis Research UK.
  • Top training, nutritional and health advice to make sure you’re ready for the big day.
  • An official Arthritis Research UK orange t-shirt to wear on the big day.
  • Support from the Arthritis Research UK events team before, during and after your challenge.
  • Access to our Team A Facebook group where you can share training tips and fundraising advice with your team mates before the big day.

What else do I need to know?

You must:

  • Be at least 12 years old to take part in the ½ mile challenge.
  • Be at least 16 years old to take part in the 1 mile and 2 mile challenge.
  • Be at least 18 years old to take part in the 5k and 10k challenge
  • Wear a wetsuit to participate in this challenge.
  • Adhere to the organisers rules for all challenges.
  • Sign up on the Great Swim website to secure a place in this challenge.

You can:

  • Set your own fundraising target for your challenge.
  • Choose which distance best suits you and your swimming ability.
