PGALsDVD: Paediatric Gait, Arms, Legs, Spine (pGALS)

pGALS is a simple, quick and validated musculoskeletal screening tool for use in the assessment of the school-aged child.

It has been developed from the adult GALS through consultation with doctors and therapists, most of whom are members of the British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology (BSPAR). The DVD demonstrates the pGALS screen and has been designed as an educational resource for medical students and their teachers. It may also be of interest to allied health professionals and others working in the field of musculoskeletal medicine.

JointZone video clipsJointZone website for medical students

JointZone is an educational website, aimed primarily at undergraduate medical students, which will also be of interest to GPs, junior hospital doctors in training and other health professionals.  Part electronic textbook, the site is illustrated with photographs and video clips showing not only techniques for examining the musculoskeletal system, but also selected patients with important physical signs.  The site can be browsed freely without logging on, but for users who log on there are interactive elements of the site which adjust to the user’s level of knowledge, based on a series of small tests.
