Research and new developments

Research into scleroderma is continually progressing and can be expected to lead to a better understanding of the condition and improved treatments. In particular, research is focusing on identifying the exact causes of blood vessel narrowing and tissue scarring (fibrosis), with the aim of developing treatments that specifically target the causes of the most severe complications of scleroderma.
