Research and new developments for osteoarthritis

There are many studies going on around the world to find and test new treatments for osteoarthritis. Arthritis Research UK is currently funding a study into the benefits of vitamin D (the VIDEO study) and has recently awarded a grant for a project that aims to find a deeper understanding of the genetic risk of osteoarthritis based on the findings of the arcOGEN study.

Arthritis Research UK are also funding early trials of stem cell research, which aims to regenerate cartilage using the body’s own cells. For more information on trials, find out what we're funding. We've also recently opened the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis, which will look to understand why osteoarthritis develops.

You can also watch the video below to find out more about research into osteoarthritis and why it's so important.
