Research and new developments

Research into complementary and alternative medicine is continuing all the time. Arthritis Research UK have recently gathered research for two detailed authoritative reports on the following subjects:

Both reports give each treatment an effectiveness score from 1–5 and categorise them according to their safety.

We’re also funding clinical trials looking at the effectiveness of acupuncture and yoga for low back pain and neck pain.

Research projects are also under way to look at whether vitamin D and omega-3 fats could be helpful in treating rheumatoid arthritis.
